Governance & Ethics

Folk Oils conducts all of its activities, production of pure vegetable oils, development of vegetable proteins, valorization of co-products, according to a rigorous governance framework, stable and independent of commercial contexts.

This framework is not a response to the requirements of our customers. It precedes these requirements. It is the condition in which Folk Oils has chosen to operate since its inception.

Governance, ethics and compliance, Folk Oils

01

Responsibility structure

Folk Oils operates under a direct management structure in which each decision affecting product quality, regulatory compliance or supply conditions is attributed to an identified, documented and traceable authority.

There is no area of ambiguity between the decision and the responsibility that results from it, neither on our vegetable oils, nor on our vegetable proteins, nor on the co-products from our valorization sector.

02

Business integrity

Folk Oils has a zero tolerance policy for any form of corruption, facilitation payments or conflicts of interest. This policy commits without exception the management, employees and all sales representatives of the company, in all the markets where we operate.

Our purchasing conditions with respect to our cooperative producer networks are based on multi-year commitments at fair prices. We do not practice short-term margin optimization upstream in our value chain.

No substitution of raw materials and no non-contractually defined mixture can take place without prior notification and explicit agreement from the customer. This rule is absolute.

03

Traceability & chain transparency

Our direct vertical integration model, from the producing cooperative to the extraction site, from the internal laboratory to the shipping dock, allows documented and verifiable traceability at each stage of the value chain.

Each batch is documented before shipment, without prior request.
  • Each batch delivered is accompanied by the entire analytical and regulatory file required by our customers' target markets: certificate of analysis, certificate of origin, safety data sheet, traceability records. These documents are issued before loading, systematically, without prior request.
  • When a deviation is detected in production, it is communicated to the partner concerned before shipment. This practice is unconditional.

04

Operational sustainability

Sustainability at Folk Oils is an industrial architecture, not a communication posture.

It is based on three operational pillars.

  • Direct channel

The direct supply chain with our cooperative producer networks guarantees fair remuneration at source and the sustainability of our raw material supply.

  • Full valuation

The full valorization of extraction co-products, from which our plant proteins come, places our production in a circular logic without non-recycled residue.

  • Carbon footprint

Batch carbon footprint tracking provides our partners with the data needed for their own ESG and Scope 3 compliance.

This architecture is auditable. It is based on production data, third-party certifications and traceability records, not declarations.

06

Human rights & working conditions

Folk Oils complies with the fundamental conventions of the International Labor Organization in all of its operations and sourcing relationships. Working conditions within our production sector are subject to regular monitoring, independently of the obligations linked to our certification standards.

07

Supplier audits

Folk Oils is available for supplier audits, site visits and technical discussions with the quality, purchasing and compliance teams of its industrial partners. These procedures are processed without restriction in principle and integrated into our standard supplier qualification process.

Partners wishing to verify Folk Oils' compliance with the requirements of their own code of conduct are invited to submit their questionnaire to our dedicated team.

05

Our certifications

Folk Oils continuously maintains compliance with regulatory frameworks applicable to its target markets. This covers food safety requirements, certified organic claims, traceability obligations, customs rules of origin and labeling standards in force in the European Union, the United States, the Gulf countries and Asia-Pacific.

Our certifications are available at the bottom of the page. They constitute our operational standard, not our selling point.
