An industrial co-product transformed into a premium asset

From canning waste to premium cosmetic active ingredient.

Morocco is one of the world's major exporters of processed apricots. The cores are usually treated as waste, burned, buried or sold at a low price. Folk Oils captures the value of the almond in direct partnership with Moroccan canneries and local women's cooperatives. Nothing is lost. Everything is valued.

What the cannery considers to be residue, Folk Oils transforms it into a leading cosmetic active ingredient, thanks to the hands of Moroccan women's cooperatives.

Two grades, two regulatory uses

The apricot kernel contains two types of kernels depending on the variety of the fruit. Folk Oils delivers both profiles separately, with clear identification of the variety, origin and type of almond in each batch.

GRADE 01 · SWEET ALMOND

Sweet kernel · Prunus armeniaca sweet

Amygdalin ≤ 0.11% · yield ~53 g/100 g. Cosmetics, food, nutraceuticals. Compliant with EC 1223/2009 · Cosmos/Ecocert.

GRADE 01, detailed sheet below

GRADE 02 · BITTER ALMOND

Bitter kernel Prunus armeniaca bitter

Amygdalin 2–4% · natural benzaldehyde · yield ~43 g/100 g. Perfumery, aromatherapy, topical only, non-food.

GRADE 02, detailed sheet below

Sweet almond vs bitter almond

This traceability is essential for your regulatory and R&D teams, in particular EC 1223/2009 on amygdalin concentrations.

Comparison of the two Folk Oils grades

Value chain

From raw material to your B2B batch

Four typical steps for our cold-pressed virgin oils in Morocco: sourcing from identified partners, preparation and control, mechanical extraction without solvent, then direct export with CoA and traceability on request.

  1. Sourcing at source
Step 01 Partner farmers · contracts

    Sourcing at source

Raw material purchased directly from identified producers, without a broker: simpler upstream traceability, fairer prices, quality better preserved all the way to the press.

  2. Preparation and sorting before pressing
    Step 02 Control · homogeneity

    Preparation and sorting before pressing

Reception, visual checks and preparation: only compliant materials go to the pressing line. This is the first quality lock before your batch.

    Control Batch to batch
  3. First cold mechanical pressing
    Step 03 Folk Oils, press

    First cold mechanical pressing

Gentle mechanical extraction, without extraction solvent, at controlled temperature to preserve fatty acids, tocopherols and sterols useful for your formulations.

  4. International packaging and delivery
    Step 04 B2B export · logistics

    International packaging and delivery

From our unit to your site: industrial packaging (IBC, drums, custom-made), export documents and execution monitoring, without opaque chain.
