World macadamia market
South Africa produces approximately 95,500 tonnes per year (~20% of global production). Kenya produces 40,000 to 50,000 tonnes on the volcanic foothills of Mount Kenya. Together, these two countries represent more than 35% of global production, growing as orchards planted over the last ten years reach commercial maturity (7 to 10 years after planting).
Folk Oils is established directly in South Africa and Kenya, the two leading territories on the continent.
1ST · SOUTH AFRICA
Leading world producer. Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga provinces. Industrial orchards and small farmers in strong expansion.

PALMITOLEIC ACID C16:1 · EXCLUSIVE SCIENTIFIC DIFFERENTIATOR
Macadamia is the only vegetable oil rich in palmitoleic acid (C16:1, omega-7).

C16:1, other oils
Of all the common vegetable oils, only one contains a significant concentration of palmitoleic acid: macadamia oil, with 16 to 23% of its composition. Other oils contain less than 1%.
This monounsaturated fatty acid with 16 carbon atoms is structurally identical to palmitoleic acid secreted by the sebaceous glands. This skin mimicry explains the exceptional penetration, the universal tolerance, the zero comedogenicity index (0) and the almost physiological restoration of the skin barrier.
Macadamia is the only vegetable oil whose composition resembles that of human sebum. It's not a marketing argument, it's biochemistry.
Palmitoleic acid is the natural anti-aging active ingredient in the “youth oil” segment in premium cosmetics. Its concentration in the skin decreases with age; virgin macadamia oil rich in C16:1 restores this deficit physiologically. Folk Oils allows you to source this active directly from Africa.

Morocco · direct sourcing · pressing Folk Oils
Raw material purchased directly from identified producers, without a broker: simpler upstream traceability, fairer prices, quality better preserved all the way to the press.
Reception, visual checks and preparation: only compliant materials go to the pressing line. This is the first quality lock before your batch.
Gentle mechanical extraction, without extraction solvent, at controlled temperature to preserve fatty acids, tocopherols and sterols useful for your formulations.
From our unit to your site: industrial packaging (IBC, drums, custom-made), export documents and execution monitoring, without opaque chain.
Each batch can be accompanied by a technical file, examples of CoA and traceability adapted to your audits. Response within 48 hours on average.
