The story behind the ingredient
The argan tree has been growing for millennia in a restricted bioclimatic zone in southwest Morocco. Its almond has been pressed by generations of women to extract the oil, an oil that has today become one of the most sought-after cosmetic ingredients in the world.
But after the press, there was something left. A dense, compact, rich cake that no one really looked at.
Folk Oils looked at it.
Our R&D teams have worked for several years on the biochemical characterization of this cake, amino acid profile, solubility, emulsifying capacity, thermal stability, formulation behavior. This work led to a conclusion that did not exist anywhere in the industrial literature: argan cake contains a protein fraction of exceptional functional value, extractable at industrially exploitable purity grades.
Folk Oils is today the only global industrial producer of argan proteins.
This is not a marketing positioning. It is a verifiable fact, no other operator produces or markets argan proteins on an industrial scale in the world. We developed the process, built the production capacity and built the analytical database on which this range is based.
If you formulate with Folk Oils Argan Protein, you are working with an ingredient that no one else can provide.
